While helmets punctured with vents like Swiss cheese keep your head cool, they need to be engineered to be as strong as shells with more structural surface area. The Kali Protectives Maraka XC Helmet’s 25 vents keep the air flowing and still pass rigorous CPSC safety standards. Kali Protectives uses Supervents, which are polycarbonate-reinforced openings to feed the 20 air ports that are placed around the Maraka XC. The entire shell has been constructed using an in-mold process, much like most high-end helmets, but to add strength, Kali adds carbon and polycarbonate to stiffen the shell. To assist with absorbing and redistributing impact, Fusion Plus technology places softer EPS foam close to the head and harder foam toward the exterior of the shell. This variable-density design helps to move the energy from an impact sideways and away from your head. Additional Bumper Fit padding provides a soft interface between the helmet and your head. To secure the Maraka XC, an adjustable Dual Closure is used.
