The Brooks Cambium Saddles are a massive, tectonic-plate-shifting departure from the venerable saddle maker. Why? Because they’re not leather. Brooks made its name over the last century making the best leather saddles on the planet. Even as other saddle makers adopted microfibers, foams, gels, and other modern materials, Brooks remained steadfast. Now, though, they’ve developed a rubber/canvas construction technique that offers all the benefits of their leather saddles in a weather- and vegan-friendly package. The shell of the saddle is a natural rubber, which is vulcanized to a cotton canvas topper. The break-in period for a Brooks saddle is nearly as legendary as the saddles themselves, and the Cambiums are a bit different, though special care should still be taken. The rubber needs very little breaking in -it should be quite comfortable out of the box. The canvas topper, however, is a bit rough, and will abrade Lycra shorts quickly and severely. For this reason, we recommend breaking this saddle in on a more casual bike (one that you’d wear jeans on) before putting it on a bike that will see Lycra time.

The B72 has distinctive loop springs unlike any other saddle. Bag loops built into the leather rim are unique to this model also. Please note that the B72 series saddles are double rail. Brooks cambium is a range of saddles made from vulcanized natural rubber and organic cotton canvas enhanced by a thin layer of structural textile for added resilience and legendary brooks longevity. The uniquely flexible, maintenance-free, waterproof top is designed to follow the rider’s movements to deliver immediate comfort and ease of use. The c17 carved is made from the same vulcanized natural rubber and organic cotton canvas as use for the c17, with an added cutout section to the top, which alleviates pressure in the perineal region experienced by some long distance cyclists, supporting comfort on longer rides. The additional flexibility absorbs bumps and vibrations from the road, functioning much in the way of a shock absorbing seat post.

A practical saddle designed for the serious enthusiast, The Cambium C15 Carved is the racing model in the Cambium family. With all the hallmarks of a Brooks saddle, the C15 is firm yet supple and will reward you on long rides with its unmatched comfort. The C15 Carved has the same narrower shape as the existing Cambium C15, but with an ergonomic cut-out that provides relief in the perineal area some cyclists experience. The saddle is crafted from vulcanized natural rubber and organic cotton top. This material covers a die-cast aluminium frame with tubular steel rails. The classic Brooks “hammock” construction creates a distinct damping effect, which will keep you comfortable for mile after mile.

Brooks Saddles B190 is the newest of our heavy duty saddles, featuring double rear coil springs and a double loop front spring. Seating comfort is accounted for by the largest leather top Brooks manufactures. The black leather saddle features tubular steel rivets, and weighs 1805 grams.
